Campaign Story

Challenge

Many communities are trapped in plastic waste quagmires with no hope in sight for appropriate solutions by their local authorities for this reason, we sensitize communities on the health and environmental dangers posed by the indiscriminate disposal of plastic waste and how plastic waste degrades our marine ecosystem and contaminates the food chain of marine organisms and the food chain of humans.
As part of our environmental awareness mission, we utilize community education, cleanup exercises, workshops, seminars, and awareness programs to educate residents about the environmental impact of plastic pollution, proper waste disposal practices, and the importance of reducing single-use plastics.
Our organization provides free partitioned waste bins, dumpsters and garbage bags made out of recycled plastic to schools, public transport stations, Places of worship, markets and other commercial centers.
In the hopes of bringing about long-term behavioral change in Africa and elsewhere regarding the indiscriminate disposal of plastic waste, as well as lowering the health and ecological dangers posed by plastic waste in our environment, we carry out these actions to encourage a sense of environmental responsibility among impacted people and communities.

Summary

Our organization raises awareness about the dangers of indiscriminate plastic waste disposal, emphasizing its impact on marine ecosystems and human food chains. Through community education, cleanup initiatives, and the distribution of recycled plastic waste bins, we promote proper waste disposal practices in schools, transport stations, markets, and commercial centers. Our mission extends to fostering long-term behavioral change in Africa and beyond, aiming to reduce health and ecological risks associated with plastic pollution by instilling environmental responsibility in affected communities.

“Plastic is a substance the Earth cannot digest. Every bit of plastic that has ever been created still exists. – BARBARA KINGSOLVER
